$10,000 On the Line in Granite State Pro Stock Special Event at Claremont Motorsports Park This Saturday

WALPOLE, N.H. — Some of the top names in the Pro Stocks from across the Northeast are all heading to Claremont Motorsports Park this Saturday, July 31, for a special $10,000 to win race for the Granite State Pro Stock Series.

In an event sponsored by Key Chevrolet Buick GMC of Newport, the 150-lap special will pin some of the series regulars against invading outsiders — all battling for one of the biggest paydays in the history of the series. In the inaugural event, during the 2020 season, former series champion Derek Griffith scored the check — and is coming back looking to capture the victory this weekend. Griffith, who will make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut later this year for Kyle Busch Motorsports, is no stranger to winning with the Granite State Pro Stock Series.

Heading into the race, a few other top names are immediate favorites: Eddie MacDonald and Joey Pole. As the most recent series winner, and two-time winner this year, Pole, a former champion, would love to add the big check to his already impressive resume. MacDonald, who competes with the Granite State Pro Stock Series for most special events, is a well-known winner across a variety of different tracks in the Pro Stocks.

Names like Cory Casagrande, Luke Hinkley, Joey Doiron and multiple-time track champion Aaron Fellows, driving the famed No. 48 for Rollie Lindblad, are all expected to compete in the 150-lap feature.

The series regulars will also put up a fight for the money — with Gabe Brown entering the race leading the point standings. He will be joined by former Claremont winner Angelo Belsito, Josh King, Tyler Tomassi, Barry Gray, Bryan Kruczek, Devin O’Connell and more.

Brown leads the points by 12 over former champion O’Connell, with Belsito 20 points back, and Kruczek 24 points out, with Josh King completing the top-five. Following Claremont, there are five more scheduled championship points events on the Granite State Pro Stock Series schedule.

Additional entries for the race include Bryon Baker, Ryan Green, Evan Beaulieu and Joey Kendall.

Granite State Pro Stock teams will practice from 1:25-2:10 p.m., and will also hit the track for a final session from 3-3:15 p.m. Qualifying begins at 4 p.m. with time trials for the Street Stocks, NHSTRA Modifieds and Granite State Pro Stocks. The qualifying heats, and the 150-lap, $10,000 to win main event will follow. Additional divisions racing on the card include those Street Stocks and NHSTRA Modifieds, along with the Six Shooters, Pure Stocks, Pro 4 Modifieds, NEMA Lites and a 4-Cylinder Enduro.

Tickets are $30 in general admission for ages 13+, with senior citizens ages 65+ set at $25 per person. Ages 6-12 can enter the grandstands for just $5, with those five and under free. All tickets will be available at the track, including pit passes.
